Rome - Italy

My Italy trip has finally come to an end and during my travels it was difficult finding time to edit my photos and upload them to the blog. Here is my post on Rome and blog posts covering Cinque Terre, Venice, and Milan should follow in the coming days. 

Rome is definitely a special place, the amount of history engraved in the city is astonishing. Major sites we visited included the Coliseum, the Pantheon, and Vatican City. Rome is one of those cities in which you can just sense rich history as you walk through it. I especially appreciated the architecture that were heavily based on deep brown and orange tones, fitting into one of my favorite color pallets. I hope you enjoy the photos. 

Belgium: Brussles & Bruges

After a couple of days in Amsterdam, my journey continued to Belgium, the land of waffles and beer. The first stop was Brussels, which to this time I have no idea what it is famous for, except for waffles and beer. I guess there's the little peeing boy, which you will not see in my photos, as it was a disappointment. After spending a night in Brussels, I headed onward to Bruge, a small but beautiful town. Bruge really gives the historical vibe I've been looking for. It's extremely quiet and peaceful, allowing me to simply stroll the streets and look for images.  

Throughout the days in Belgium, I would say the biggest highlight would be the food. In Brussels my dinner was simply a bucket of mussels, and how could you get sick of the Belgian waffles?! 

Travelling is definitely tiring. Thinking of spending the next weekend in Paris. Or actually, how does Morocco sound?

Amsterdam

Blogging from Amsterdam on my iPhone. For the first time in years, I'm travelling without my MacBook Air. I decided to leave my MacBook in Paris mainly to lighten the load in my backpack, but also to avoid getting glued to it while I should be enjoying and experiencing the city. So all the photos you're seeing are unedited and simply transferred from my Fuji X-T1 to my iPhone via wifi. 

The journey began with me waking up early to catch a 6am train from Paris to Amaterdam. Arriving a few hours later, I was able to begin a full day in Amsterdam. Most of the 48 hours was spent walking the streets of the city. I love to simply head out the door and get lost walking as I find it allows me to focus on capturing photos that portray the beauty of each town. Tourist activities aren't really my thing but I did visit the Van Gogh Museum, Heineken Experience exhibition, and took the boat tour. 

The most memorable moments of this city was definitely when I pulled myself out of bed at 6am to walk around town as the sun came up. The city was dead quiet and calm; the morning light made everything even more beautiful. I've decided to experience the early morning of each place I visit. Of course I went to a local cafe for breakfast afterwards. Brussels tomorrow.

London

I don't know what it is about London, but it's been one of those places I've always wanted to visit. A week ago, I stepped foot in the UK for the first time and immediately I felt back at home, mainly because I was able to communicate in English. London is clean, feels safe, but also ridiculously expensive. 

It was nice to personally witness Buckingham Palace, it made me watch National Treasure 2 all over again just to see Ben Gates hunt down clues in Queen Victoria's desk. Of course I'd never miss out on opportunities to visit the local cafes, and if you were to ever visit London, I would recommend stopping by Timberyard Seven Dials, TAP Coffee, and Kahaila Cafe. 

London is truly a beautiful city, composed by the vibrant river bank, the bustling markets, and the classy people. I was extremely impressed with how clean the streets were and the overall infrastructure despite being such an old city.

And I'm back in Paris. The Netherlands and Belgium are now on the clock.
